Embroidery vs screen print vs DTF

Battle Born Clothing embroiders and screen prints in-house, and presses DTF transfers made by a partner in Carson City, Nevada. So we have no reason to push one. Here is how they compare.

Mixing methods

Plenty of orders mix them: embroidered polos for staff, screen-printed tees for an event, leather patch hats for everyone. We quote it as one job.

The numbers show the usual pattern. Screen printing wins on price for tees at volume. Embroidery costs a bit more per piece and looks like a uniform. DTF fills the gap when a full-color design has to go on a small run.

Durability notes

Embroidery outlasts most garments it is stitched on and holds up to commercial laundry. Plastisol screen prints last a long time when washed inside out. Water-based and discharge prints feel softer and fade gently over time. DTF transfers hold up well when pressed correctly and washed cool.

How to decide in one minute

  1. Is it a hat, polo, jacket, apron or towel? Embroider it.
  2. Is it 48 or more tees with a one- to three-color design? Screen print it.
  3. Is it a small run with a full-color design? Ask for DTF.
  4. Not sure? Send the art and the item, and we will recommend one and show the price.

Battle Born Clothing quotes all three from the same request, so you can compare real numbers before you choose.
